Lia
Bergman (b. 1998) is a London based multidisciplinary artist and illustrator. Her art operates on the axes between humour and horror, abstraction and
figuration. She often aims to perform a hacking of symbolic structures,
rearranging them according to a crooked logic and leaving it to the
viewer to find out. Much of her work incorporates the audience reactions
to it, making present the performative aspect of viewing and the agency
it demands. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Fine Art at
Goldsmiths, University of London.
In her illustration work, she specalises in manual techniques and is inspired by Jugendil illustrations from the 20s and psychadelic design from the 60s and 70s.
